Illegal Nightclub was Run Out of Home
By David Greene
BRONX, NEW YORK (BRONX NEWS)- Police have released photos of a man and woman wanted in connection with the shooting of two men at an illegal after-hours nightclub in Bedford Park.
Officers from the 52nd Precinct were called to the three-family home at 2836 Valentine Avenue at East 198 Street, at 6 a.m., on Saturday, August 22.
Officials say the victim, identified as Almame Drammeh, 23, of Findlay Avenue, was shot in the abdomen and the back and was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died the following Monday.
Drammeh's 36-year-old friend who remains unidentified, was also wounded and was recovering at St. Barnabas Hospital. Police say the man was being uncooperative with the investigation.
Police have released a second photo of a woman wanted for questioning, as she was seen with the still-unidentified gunman.
One resident of the block explained, "Yes, we knew they had a nightclub in there for about the last two-years. The person that stays there is a very nice man... but he's not allowed to open the club again."
A second resident who has lived on the block for the last 30 years, added, "I only found out about the club recently when customers started to hang out by my window. Otherwise I never would have known about it."
The next-door neighbor added, "I knew something like this would happen eventually, because they were always fighting with each other."
Police have made no arrests in the case and anyone with any information are asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at (800) 577-TIPS.
